WHAAAAT?
Who put that stop sign there?
Apparently the fine City of Albany found a few extra stop signs in its warehouses, and has decided to install them randomly throughout the city.
Yeah, yeah. If it was my neighborhood, I would probably be happy, too, to have drivers slow down more often.
I need to find a new way to drive to work now. It took me quite some time to find this way to work – the least amount of stoplights and stop signs, and the ability to pull out onto busy Western Avenue while a well-placed stoplight (that I did not have to stop at!) blocked traffic for me.
I’ve even gotten to “know” the people in the neighborhoods I drive through. There is one woman who walks her two shihtzus every morning around 7:20 am. There is another woman who waits for her carpool ride around the same time, while further down the road a man waits at the bus stop. A nod and a smile has developed over the years.
I had all the critical rights-of-way, this jogging set of turns to reach work every morning.
And since I never had to stop at these intersections before, I fully expect to see flashing lights in my rearview mirror soon. Unless, of course, I am able to discover a new way to work requiring minimal pressure on the brake pedal.
Did I just publicly admit crazy, or does anyone else out there think like this too?
