Sauced In New York Sometimes the food is in the sauce, sometimes we are
the tree the kitchen gadget!
I am a confessed lover of kitchen gadgets. This penchant, much like my love of naps, I get from my mother. It’s all her fault! As I plan my weekdays, I always look for that one hour where I might pretend I am busy ahem, avoid direct eye contact with the dog who wants to go for a walk ahem, slide into bed with decadence and nod off for 30-45 minutes.
Looooove! Naps and kitchen gadgets! Woot woot!
My new computer is doing a great job of filtering spam email. The iPhone, in contrast, has no such feature.
Confession for the day: because of the iPhone’s reluctance to filter things I should avoid, today I rescued from my spam folder the email with the subject line:
CHAOS RESOLVED: CUPBOARDS PRACTICALLY ORGANIZE THEMSELVES!
How can you not save that? Want that? Order that? My mom would so get this! Wait, maybe she already did!
There are roll-out cabinet drawers, magazine holders, turntables for spices, cabinet organizers and rolling storage racks! This would make our life so much more organized! This would take teenage chaos and make it like June Cleaver’s house from the 50’s! Oh, I have to order these organizers!
Alas… the post-Christmas mantra is already in place: Do I really need that? Will my cupboards practically organize themselves with teenagers at home, and no June Cleaver to smile at every turn and look smart in a dress?
Instead I offer CICLOS, this winter’s white wine selection. It is a Michel Torino wine, a 2007 Sauvignon Blanc/Fumé blend. I like this wine after it has had some time to breathe. I love this wine for its depth, much more than a light summer white, and for its amazing label, simple, meaningful and elegant.
In the meantime, I think I need to go delete some dangerously tempting emails…
